New booking updates for Beta access only. Customize rentals by event type allowing better forms, images & filters for members.

📝 Overview

We’re excited to introduce enhancements to Online Booking designed to give your organization more flexibility and improve the member experience. Historically, all rental bookings were forced into a one-size-fits-all model—defaulting to a single “Rental” event type. This meant custom forms, setup/takedown times, and images were shared across all rentals, even when they should have differed.

With this update, you can now configure multiple event types per resource—each with its own booking settings. Whether you're managing birthday parties, field rentals, or batting cages, you'll be able to tailor the experience to the specific needs of each rental type.

🎯 Goal: To support individualized configuration per event type, improving member experience and increasing booking volume.


🔧 Pages Updated to Support This Feature

Several areas within Dash have been updated to support this functionality. Below are the system pages affected, along with links to their respective Help Center articles for detailed guidance.

Event Types

  • ✅ New toggle: “Is rentable in member app”

  • ❗ The built-in "Rental" type allows you to choose a display name to show on the Rental page in the Member app. It will default to "Rental" if left blank.

Resources

  • ✅ Updated the "Settings" tab with:

    • Enable Online Bookings/Rentals toggle

    • Ability to select one or more Event Types

    • Ability to include an image of the Resource to display online

🌐 What’s New in the Member App for Online Bookings?

Customers booking rentals online will now experience a more intuitive and tailored process. Key improvements include:

🔍 Improved Rental Search Experience

  • Start page defaults to the customers location, but they can always choose to see other locations or all locations

  • Customers only see Event Types available for each specified location

  • Filters are still accessible but no longer front and center

🖼 Event-Specific Images & Descriptions

Each Event Type can have it’s own image & description - this is the first thing your customer will see!

🧩 Multiple Event Types per Resource

Customers won’t have to answer irrelevant questions!

  • Birthday Party might ask about birthday child info or cake preference

  • Field Rental could ask about sport being played, or number of participants on the field

⚠️ Important Booking Limitation


At this time, customers cannot complete checkout if their cart contains multiple booking types—such as both a Request to Book and a Book-Only rental. To complete a booking, please ensure all items in the cart are the same type.

Right now, you can’t set up multiple booking options for the same resource. For example, if you want people to be able to book both a birthday party and a full field rental for the same field, you’ll need to create a duplicate “virtual” resource. This way, each event type can have its own booking option.
