Overview

When creating Gift Cards you must first create the type of gift card product in the system. If you will be printing a mass amount of cards to sell then your next step will be creating redemption codes to assign to physical cards. Physical cards are not required however. For example, when a customer purchases a gift card online, the redemption code is attached to their invoice receipt for future use.

Product Setup

Each gift card you would like to offer to your customer will need to be created as a unique product. When you are creating your card products, be sure to have the product type set to "Gift Card".

When choosing the price, add a minimum price for the gift card. When a customer purchases the Gift Card online, they will see the base price, 2 additional options, or they can choose their own amount.

Next, be sure to set the product to be available online so that your customers can purchase gift cards from their Online page.

To make it easier to ring up a gift card on the Admin side, you can add a UPC code on your Product setup page or add it to your Cash Register.

Generating Redemption Codes

Gift card numbers can be generated and sent off to a card printing provider using our card number generation tool found on the Admin side. Just search "gift card generator" in the global search box. The gift card generator will produce a CSV file with the number of gift cards you want to print.

Printing Gift Cards

You can then provide the CSV file to any card printing company to print gift cards with barcodes on them using the numbers generated. We've used idedge as a printing provider in the past for our Player Cards but any card provider will work. Another company you can go through is Custom Card Co.

Before printing a large number of cards have the provider email [email protected] with any questions they might have.

Below is an example of a gift card that was printed for Arena Sports. The front displays the Company logo. The back will show a scannable and written Redemption Code, the facility phone number and address.
