Learn how players request to join a team and how managers accept or decline those requests through the Customer Portal.

Joining a team online allows players to quickly connect with their teammates and ensures that coaches and managers can build their rosters efficiently. Instead of relying on paper forms or manual sign-ups, the software provides a secure way for players to request a spot on a private team and for managers to review and accept those requests.

For players, this process guarantees that you’re connected to the correct team in the right league or age group, and it ensures you’ll receive team communications and schedules once accepted.

For managers or coaches, the join request system helps maintain accurate rosters, keeps unapproved players from joining without permission, and automatically sends confirmation emails when a player is approved. Managers also have options to accept, reject, or leave a request pending, giving them full control over who participates on the team.

This article walks you through both perspectives—submitting a join request as a player and approving requests as a manager—so you can confidently manage team participation from start to finish.

You’ll complete these steps from your online account (Customer Portal). Managers/coaches will also act on these requests from their Dashboard.


🛠️ Requesting to Join a Private Team (Player View)

  1. Log in to your online account.

  2. Go to the Register tab on the left side.

  3. Select the registrant’s name.

  4. Choose the program type (for example: Adult Indoor Soccer).

  5. Pick the correct league level.

    ⚠️ Note: Age-based leagues require that your account profile include a valid birthdate.

  6. Locate the private team you want to join.

    • These teams display Request to Join instead of a fee-based Register button.

  7. Click Request to Join.

  8. On the Activity Request page, confirm the registrant’s details and click Confirm Request.

  9. A Request Sent modal will appear, confirming that your request has been submitted to the team manager.

  10. The team manager/coach will receive an email notification with your request.


🤝 Accepting/Declining a Player Request (Manager/Coach View)

  1. When a player submits a request, the team manager will receive an email notification.

    • Example subject line: "[Dash] Team Join Request: [Team Name]"

  2. Click on the Respond to request button on the email or log in to your account online.

  3. After logging in, you’ll also see a banner at the top of your dashboard indicating that a player has requested to join.

  4. Click Respond to open the Requests to Join window.

  5. In the Response dropdown, select one of the options:

    • Yes – Approves the player and notifies them.

    • No – Declines the player and notifies them.

    • No – do not notify requester – Declines the player without sending them an email.

    • Undecided – Leaves the request pending.

  6. (Optional) Click Add Comment to leave a message for the player. This is a great place to add payment details, reminders, or a welcome note.

  7. Click Send response to finalize your decision. The player will receive an email if you selected Yes or No with notify.

  • Players: Once accepted, log in to your account, go to your team’s page, and complete payment (if required). You’ll also start receiving team schedules and communications.

What if I don’t see the “Register” or “Request to Join” button?

This may mean your account is missing a birthdate. You can view your date of birth under My Profile. If your birthdate is missing or incorrect, you will need to contact the facility to correct it.

I didn’t get the email confirmation. What now?

Check your spam or junk folder, and confirm your account email is correct. If the issue persists, contact the facility.

What happens if a manager ignores my request?
