Taking Customer Profile Pictures

Learn how to take and update customer profile pictures in Dash using a webcam, including hardware and browser requirements.

πŸ“ Overview

Customer profile pictures are taken directly in Dash using a webcam. Photos cannot be uploaded from a file. Once added, a customer's profile picture will appear in the following locations:

  • Customer Portal (Member Card and Dashboard)

  • Admin side (Profile page, Program Roster, Roster Report, Class and Camp Check-in)

  • Hardware: Any standard webcam can be used to take customer profile pictures. Logitech cameras are recommended. Install the camera following the manufacturer's instructions and confirm it is working before use.

  • Browser: No additional software is required. You must be using an up-to-date web browser. Supported browsers include Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. If using a mobile device, Chrome or Safari is recommended.

When a customer does not yet have a profile picture on file, a camera icon will appear in place of their photo on their profile page.

To take a profile picture:

  1. Open the customer's profile and click the camera icon or the existing profile image.

  2. A capture box will appear on your screen.

  3. If this is your first time using the camera, you may be prompted to allow camera access. Click Allow.

  4. Your camera feed will appear inside the box. Click Capture when you are ready.

  5. Click Upload. The profile picture will now appear on the customer's profile.

⚠️ Important Note: Profile pictures must be taken in person using a connected webcam. Customers and admins cannot upload photos from a file at this time.

✍️ Profile pictures cannot be deleted, but they can be replaced at any time.

To update a profile picture:

  1. Open the customer's profile and click the current profile picture.

  2. Click Capture to take a new photo.

  3. Click Upload. The new picture will replace the previous one.
