📝 Overview
Program Types are the foundation for how your offerings are displayed and organized in the software. They act as high-level categories that group together related programs, products, and events. By assigning Products to a Program Type, and then linking those to Seasons or Levels, you control how customers browse and register online.
From the customer’s perspective, Program Types make navigation easier by breaking your offerings into familiar categories such as Youth Camps, Adult Leagues, Fitness Classes, or Drop-In Activities. This reduces confusion, improves the registration experience, and helps customers quickly find the programs that matter to them.
From the staff/admin perspective, Program Types provide structure and reporting benefits. They ensure that your Products and Programs are organized consistently, can be filtered in key reports (like GL and Category Sales), and allow you to highlight your offerings with images and names that align with your organization’s branding.
Without Program Types, Products may not display correctly online, and reporting on registrations or sales can be incomplete. That’s why setting them up is an essential early step when building or expanding your programs in the software.
🔑 Authorizations
To create or edit a Program Type, a User’s role must have the Company Account Settings authorization.

Click the + button and type the name of your new program.
Upload an Image (recommended for online display).
You can choose whether this Program should appear Online for customers to register for. This picture below shows programs online and how they will display.
Click the toggle Team Management on, if the program is team based where the customer can either join an existing team or create a new team.

Next, we need to assign the program types to the Products. Click on the Cash Register option form the top menu bar select Products. You can also start typing in the word "Products" in the global search box at the top of the screen.
You can choose to search by Product Category, such as Fee - Class, to pull up all of the class products in your system or search by and product name.
Put a check box next to the products that you would like to label a specific Program Type.
In the Manage Selected Products box change the drop down to the program you want to assign the checked products to.
Press the Apply Button to save.

When you are ready to see the products associated to your Program Types, you can run these either through the GL Report or the Category Sales Report.
