Changing the Billed To Customer on Invoice

If an invoice was created under the wrong customer, you can update the Billed To customer directly from the invoice. This article covers how to make that change and how to review it in the Audit Log.

To change the Billed To customer on an invoice, the Global Financial authorization is required.


πŸ”„ Changing the Billed To Customer

Follow the steps below to update the Billed To customer on an existing invoice.

  1. Open the invoice you need to edit.

  2. On the right side of the invoice, locate the Invoice Summary panel. You will see a Billed to section displaying the current customer.

  3. Select the edit icon next to the customer name. The Edit Bill To modal will open.

  4. In the Choose a Customer field, type the name of the new customer. You can also select + Create customer if the customer does not yet exist.

  5. Click Save.

The invoice will update to reflect the new Billed To customer. The change will appear on the invoice summary for both the original and updated customer.

Use the Audit Log report to review changes made to invoices, including Billed To updates.

  1. In the Global Search Box, type Audit Log and select it from the results.

  2. Set the View Changes To dropdown to Invoices.

  3. Optionally, filter by Invoice ID, date range, or the employee who made the change using the Edited By User field.

  4. Select Search to run the report.
